Membership Care and Development Ministry:

Chair: Joyce Williams

Cross Creek's Membership Care and Development Ministry leads the church in identifying and welcoming a diversity of new people into our faith community, inviting them to become covenant members, caring for and nurturing the membership and assisting the membership in stewarding their time, talents and treasures in keeping with the church's stated mission of Communicating God's Grace.

Worship Ministry:

Chair: Ruth Hopkins

Cross Creek's Workship Ministry leads the church in the regular worship of God by telling and retelling our Sacred story by bringing together the various gifts and expressions of performing and creative arts available within and outside the church, by creating a welcoming environment and sacred space, by offering a meaningful and accessible liturgy, and by employing and maintaining the equipment and technology of contemporary worship in keeping with the church's stated mission of Celebrating God's Presence.

Spiritual Formation Ministry:

Chair: Pam Powers

Cross Creek's Spiritual Formation Ministry leads the church in their spiritual development through Christian education, theological reflection, and faithful practices, paying close and special attention to the faith development of our children and youth and offering small groups and other settings (lectures, retreats, etc) for adults to continue their own spiritual formation and a meaningful Christian spirituality in keeping with the church's stated mission of becoming God's People.

Cross Creek's Justice and Witness Ministry leads the church to engage in missions and ministries that reach out to our community and beyond by creating places of refuge and renewal for those who are wounded and/or ignored by the church, by acting with compassion and siding with those who are poor, by pursuing and advocating for justice with and for those who are oppressed, by caring for the earth, by working for peace, by coordinating the distribution of the church's financial resources locally and through our church's wider mission through the United Church of Christ and the Alliance of Baptists in keeping with the church's stated mission of Demonstrating God's Love.

Building and Grounds Ministry:

Chair: Mary Taylor

Cross Creek's Building and Grounds Ministry coordinates the operational functions of the church so as to promote, support and strengthen the work of the church as it fulfills is vision and mission. The work of this ministry includes the making of recommendations for action directly to the Coordinating Council.

Standing Committees – The Committee chair and members of all Standing Committees are nominated by the Nominating Committee. The Moderator and Moderator Elect are Ex-Officio members of all standing committees of the Church Operations Ministry. All Chairs and committee members are nominated for a one year term and may serve consecutive terms. The Committee Chairs and Committee members may be filled by any member of the congregation.

  1. The Finance Committee prepares and manages the church's budget in coordination with the Treasurer, maintaining a financially responsible relationship between the church budget, cash flow, and the current needs of the church. One person on this committee shall be designated the Financial Secretary who is charged with maintaining an accurate record of all contributions to the church and distributing a quarterly statement of giving to all contributors.
  2. The Building and Grounds Committee insures the maintenance, repair and long range planning for all of the church's building(s) and grounds and also develops appropriate policies, procedures and fees for the use of the church's facilities by groups and individuals both inside and outside the church.
  3. The Human Resources Committee develops, implements and maintains the personnel policies and procedures for all paid staff, to secure, nurture and terminate the church's human resources as needed except where expressly limited by this constitution. This committee also reviews and recommends compensation and benefit packages and conducts yearly evaluations.
In addition to any assigned Standing Committee(s), other Committees and Task Forces may be appointed as deemed necessary by the Ministry Chair.
